Gooseberry Bush Partners

Rosemellin Community Primary School.

Throughout their time at the Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery, children visit the school for a variety of occasions - Sports Day, Parties and Plays etc. During their pre-school year, all children who will attend Rosemellin are taken to the reception class every Wednesday for ‘Rosie’s CleverSticks’. Staff from the nursery and the school liaise regularly and make frequent visits to each setting. Click on Rosemellin School's website for more information on CleverSticks.

Surestart

Working with Surestart, we are able to offer further support to young children and their families. For instance, if staff have concerns over a child’s speech, we arrange for a meeting with parents and a Speech and Language Therapist so we can work out a plan to help the child. We also have access to many Surestart activities. During school holidays we run a playgroup for 2-4 year olds whose parents need extra support and this playgroup is funded by Surestart.

The playgroup is supervised by Mary, a caring nursery nurse with many years experience in childcare and parental support. For further information contact the nursery on 01209 713119

Carn Brea

In partnership with the Leisure Centre at Carn Brea, the Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery runs a creche to care for the children aged from birth to 5 years for parents who use the Leisure Centre’s facilities, who shop locally or who may have an appointment for an interview, or doctor’s appointment. Ring 01209 719891 for more information or booking.

Jobcentre Plus

Our partnership with Jobcentre Plus involves us working together to find the best route back into training or work including information on New Deal and lone parents.

Their advisors are also on hand to offer advice to our parents regarding working tax credits and how it helps to pay for fees.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The CAB has an advice session at the Gooseberry Bush every other Monday from 10-12 am. This service is open to the Childrens Centre families and the wider community. You are advised to book a time slot but are welcome to drop in during the session.

Children and Family Services (previously E.Y.D.C.P)
